Fulfilling the intrinsic need

to get messy! When I was a child I loved to get messy. Flour, mud, paint, burning barbies hair on a hot light bulb (sorry mom, sorry Barbie) Those were some wonderful learning experiences! In an effort to keep accidental messes to a minimum I let the kids get messy quite often. Yes, it's a lot of work. But they have so much fun and I enjoy getting to see them get messy. Even the babies are included in the messy fun with some edible finger paint!!
