Summer is Here

Time for my quarterly blog post!! Summer has officially started and we are having a blast so far. The girls handed out these little cards to all their friends on the last day hoping to keep in touch over the summer. I have loved seeing them grow and blossom this year. They are both smart little girls and work very hard at their studies. We are continuing that work over the summer by studying gorillas!!!! We have started learning all the names of the gorillas at our local zoo and becoming familiar with their pictures so hopefully we can identify them when we go to observe! We are doing a very hands on unit study over the summer to make learning fabulously fun!

Nate and Kate have a favorite summer activity already. Kate loves to blow bubbles and Nate loves to take his toy gun outside and shoot birds. Sometimes he shoots neighbors, or cars, or neighbors in their cars, but mostly just birds because Mommy doesn't really want him shooting people. Boys are...um...really boyish. The other day Grandma and Papaw were visiting and Kate was carrying on a conversation like any little girl would but Nate decided punching Papaw in the leg was the greatest form of communication.
